2010 TOP GUN - Nauti Marine at 208 MPH | Lake of the Ozarks Shootout
The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the United States and has been listed by Powerboat Magazine as one of the 8 “must see” boating events. With speeds reaching 208 MPH on a 1 mile drag, boats come from all over the United States for the honor of “Top Gun”. The 22nd Anniversary event continued its record setting pace as over 75,000 people came to the Lake of the Ozarks to see a fun-filled week of activities.  From the golf tournament and National Concert Performers, to remote controlled boat races and an unbelievable fireworks display, there certainly was something for everyone.  All of it was just a prelude to the record setting performance of David Scott and John Tomlinson of Nauti-Marine as they blistered their way past over 6,000 boats lining the course on Saturday at 208 mph, a new Captain Ron's record and just 1 mph short of the all time record.

A new record was also set for what this event is really all about - charitiable donations.  $70,000 is being handed out to 20 different charities, including 8 lake area fire departments.  Events such as the golf tournament, the Treasure Hunt, a mini-shootout with remote control boats, the PWC dam run, the annual auction and even a contest to see who has the cleanest boat, have brought much needed donations to this "once just a weekend" event.

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Committee is greatful to the 411 volunteers that donated 5140 hours to making this week long event such a huge success.  We're looking forward to 2011 and another record setting event.
